Terminal
Ras Tanura & Jubail
رأس تنورة والجبيل
What it is
Saudi Aramco's principal export terminals on the Arabian Gulf. Ras Tanura is among the world's largest crude export terminals; Jubail combines export with refining and heavy industry.
Why it moves price
Most Saudi crude leaves through them, and both sit inside the Gulf — behind Hormuz. The East-West pipeline connects them to Yanbu on the Red Sea, giving the Kingdom a partial outlet when the strait tightens.
Tension is measured daily, not described
We track thirteen chokepoints and terminals, publish a daily tension score with its components and the reasoning behind each, and tie it to the prices that move with it.
