Terminal

Houston & Corpus Christi

هيوستن وكوربس كريستي

What it is

The principal export terminals on the US Gulf Coast in Texas. Corpus Christi is the largest outlet for US crude exports.

Why it moves price

US light crude leaves through them for Europe and Asia — the flow that reshaped the global balance over the past decade. Their activity is read alongside the Brent–WTI spread: a wider spread opens the export arbitrage, a narrow one shuts it.

Tension is measured daily, not described

We track thirteen chokepoints and terminals, publish a daily tension score with its components and the reasoning behind each, and tie it to the prices that move with it.
